Almost every weekend we have house parties. Friends who come to eat and drink often make me think of offering them something new and interesting.

I used to serve prepackaged food most of the time, but considering its ill health effects, I finally forced myself to go into the kitchen and take things in my hands.

Being a non-vegetarian always leaves me plenty of room to experiment with key ingredients like chicken or fish. However, the benefits of including fish in your diet are far greater than any other form of meat. Therefore, I tried to use the healthiest option of all, “Salmon”. Rich in Omega 3, a great source of protein and vitamin B, loaded with antioxidants. This recipe was going to get an “A” in terms of health. But, to enhance the flavor, the crunchier the better, so why not make a “Fish Fry”?

A recent discovery of a great appetizer is My Semolina Fish Fry! Healthy with approximately 120 calories. per serving, for 4 people, cooking time 35-40 minutes. Quick and easy!

Ingredients:

1) Fish Fillets (of your choice), I used Salmon – 5-6 Pieces

2) Semolina flour – 1/2 cup (easily available at supermarkets like Walmart)

3) Garlic paste – 1 teaspoon

4) Red chili powder (Paprika) – 1/2 teaspoon

5) Lemon juice – 1 teaspoon

6) Salt to taste

7) Olive Oil – For shallow frying

Method:

1) Wash the fish fillets and remove the skin if necessary, be sure to use soft hands while washing and scrub if using salmon as the pieces are delicate and break easily.

2) In a bowl, mix a teaspoon of oil, salt, paprika, lemon juice and garlic paste.

Spread and rub all over the fish pieces, cover and reserve in the fridge for about 15-20 minutes.

3) Once well marinated, heat a tablespoon of oil in a pan.

We have Semolina flour to spread on a plate.

4) Wrap the fish fillets in the semolina flour and fry them in the pan.

5) Usually it takes 5-7 minutes over medium heat to fry the fish on one side, turn it over and fry for another 5-7 minutes on the other side.

6) It may take a few more minutes to get crispy and well cooked.

7) Once ready, remove them on a plate and serve them hot with a sauce or dip of your choice.
