1. Stevie Ray Vaughan came to this world on October 3, 1954 in Dallas, Texas, although he was transferred to Austin at the age of 17. He was younger brother Jimmie Vaughan and also a highly acclaimed guitarist. He was known by his initials SRV, which he put on the scratch plate of his Fender Stratocaster guitar.
2. Initially, SRV created a band called Triple Threat Review which later became the blues rock band Double Trouble in 1978. Double Trouble recorded four studio albums, including the legendary debut project Texas Flood in 1983, which was an important achievement.
3. Stevie Ray was an extremely emotional and melodic guitarist and used various vintage guitars and amps to generate his signature sound. Unlike many other top-tier guitarists, Stevie Ray preferred to use very heavy strings on his guitars to further refine his legendary personal sound from his Stratocaster’s guitar pickups. It is known that he was not very picky about the brand of rope he used as long as they were “as thick as barbed wire.”
