To the directors and producers, I say “Well done.”
The movie aroused so many emotions; I cried profusely and, luckily, I was healing. I really bought into the story and related to it so much that I felt “every emotion” deep in my soul. My whole being shook long after and on the way home, I listened to ALL the soundtracks.
I’ve gathered some relationship facts and advice from the movie that I’d like to share:
• True love, genuine love, authentic love still exists, thank GOD. His love story overcame the tests of addictions, pain and outside influences to a degree that is very rare today.
• Who do you listen to? I got really mad when Ally’s manager told Jackson that she was ruining her career by marrying him. Instead of encouraging him after her rehabilitation, she destroyed, in a few seconds, the chance she had to get back together with the love of her life and live life fully. He was also angry that Jackson listened to him instead of talking about it with Ally.
• Communication in a relationship is CRUCIAL! When you involve third parties, you only create problems, misunderstandings and pain. They must TALK directly to each other, fully express their feelings to avoid unnecessary pain. No matter how much it hurts, a heart to heart conversation is the best solution.
• You are the ONLY one who can save yourself! Unfortunately, no one can cure you or decide to stop taking any substance/thing that YOU are addicted to. No one but YOU have that power. If you are not strong enough, or do not have the willpower to do it on your own, the best thing to do is seek professional help. No matter how much you love someone, you cannot do the WORK for them.
• OBY! Always be yourself: it is important to BE able to BE yourself with the person you love, to be silly, to be funny, to be crazy, to let go. If you can’t do it, maybe you’re not with the right person for you. However, it is up to you to define that for yourself; you are the only one who can. I loved the chemistry and connection that Ally and Jackson had in the movie, they didn’t hide who they were on top of everything that was going on, and that authenticity was beautiful to me.

I love movies and I love the ones that can inspire me, empower me, spark something in me, help me move forward, laugh, get through the day and learn some lessons that I can implement in my own life.

If you haven’t seen this movie, I recommend you do and maybe you can share with me in the comments, your own side of the story.

PS: The songs were amazing.
