The alliance it is Gerald N. Lund’s best contribution to the literary world. He is perhaps best known for his series, “The Work and the Glory,” which follows the life of a fictional family as they join the newly founded Mormon Church. The allianceHowever, he jumps from historical fiction to post-apocryphal science fiction and is frankly more interesting than his most famous work.

Like most post-apocalyptic fiction, the novel takes place in a devastated world. The war has left the once powerful nation almost completely devoid of life. Only a handful of people here and there have survived. They have learned to dig, hunt, or farm. They have managed to meet only in small, tribal-like groups. However, one city has survived and, using its advanced technology, seeks to unite all the tribes under its own power.

Although Lund’s prose lacks fluidity, the story is intriguing. The action begins in the first chapter and accelerates rapidly, so that by the end of the climax your heart is racing and you are breathing heavily. Surely that is reason to praise Lund. Surely, there is nothing worse than a slow start to a book. If there is no action of any kind in the first 50 pages, it is hard to imagine how it could be worth reading. On The alliance, the reader is so engrossed in the story that they have no time to guess what will happen next. You can collect clues and begin to suspect something, but then you are immediately sucked into the events that follow.

If character development were traced in the same way that a story plot is traced, the main characters in The alliance it would follow a standard plot. There is a good boy, a bad boy, and a girl who becomes a love interest. The good guy makes some mistakes, but in the end, he defies the bad guy and gets the girl. The relationship between the character and the reader is enough to keep the action moving. However, if you are looking for a book with intriguing and complex characters, this is not the book for you.

Usually, The alliance it’s a fun and quick read. It’s perfect for anyone who likes science fiction and high-action books. While it gives something to think about, it is not intended for deep thought. This makes it attractive to a wide range of readers. The content is also clean and youth-friendly. If you are looking for good entertainment, I highly recommend you. The alliance by Gerald N. Lund.
