Have you ever wondered why French women always look slim and fabulous? The answer to this lies in a diet that has been kept secret for over a decade.

When Dr. Pierre Dukan published his book, it got rave reviews in France and so I want to start with a review to see if this will suit you as a regimen.

In this Dukan diet menu review, I want to point out the various possibilities available to you while embarking on this weight loss regimen.

There are 4 phases to the Dukan Diet, and each phase is a separate diet unto itself. Their emphasis is to get you to lose weight quickly initially and then proceed to embark on a stabilizing diet that will replenish your body with much-needed nutrients and vitamins, while conditioning your body to eat healthy foods. There then the foods allowed are different for all these phases.

The 4 Phases of the Dukan Diet Menu

1) This is called the Attack Phase. It is designed to achieve maximum results quickly. According to the plan, you will undergo a self-examination to see if you will do this for a minimum of 3 days or a maximum of 10 days for this protein-based diet. If you need to lose a lot of weight, it should be within a maximum period of 10 days to achieve favorable results. This initial phase can be compared to the Dr. Atkins diet in that it is based purely on the consumption of meats with the only difference being that it eliminates high fats from butter and oils.

2) It is labeled as the Cruise Phase. The options here start to include certain vegetables and are an integral part of replenishing your body according to the Dukans diet. Vegetables that do not include starchy vegetables can only be eaten every other day in this phase, as protein still dominates the Dukan diet menu.

3) The third phase is the consolidation phase according to the Dukan Diet regime. This phase begins with the introduction of carbohydrates into the plan, with foods such as rice, bread, and pasta constantly being incorporated into the diet. While protein still dominates the diet plan, you are given 2 free meals of your choice a week, to enjoy however you like.

4) The final phase is mainly focused on maintaining weight. At this stage you have disciplined yourself, you have done the hard work and now it is time to reward yourself and see the results. The Dukan Diet Menu at this stage allows you the freedom to eat foods of your choice, with one caveat; You should dedicate one day to only eating protein a week. Dr. Dukan recommends Thursdays.

It’s as simple as that.
