This article covers the importance of training your pit bull puppy. Owners are often not educated about dog ownership and training, so they end up with a disobedient puppy that they have no control over. Aside from what some people may think, training your pit bull is extremely important and I don’t think anyone should own a dog without knowing at least some basics of pit bull training.

So why exactly is it important to train your pit bull? There is actually more than one answer to this and I am going to cover some of them below. For starters, training a pit bull will provide some sort of order in the house. Just like parents teach their children the ins and outs of life, pit bull owners should take the time to train their puppies in exactly the same way. This is necessary so that throughout life there are fewer problems as to what is allowed and what is not.

Remember, your Pit Bull may be doing things that may seem “wrong” to you, but to him it’s not simply because he doesn’t know what’s right and what’s wrong. They don’t understand human language, so what makes you think they can understand you when you yell “Don’t pee on this rug”?

Did you know that your dog has a memory of 5 seconds? That is, if your dog urinates on the floor and you “punish” him more than 5 seconds later, will your pit bull have no idea why he is being punished? He will then try to associate the punishment with what happened at the time he was punished. For example, if he was grounded right after you “remembered” him, he might associate “remembering” with punishment and be hesitant to come to you the next time you call him.

It’s kind of funny, really, because my parents had dogs and cats without knowing any of this information. Sure, I don’t blame them, but I think people who are ignorant and choose to be ignorant about the proper ways to own and raise a dog should not be allowed to own one. This is the goal of this article: to express the importance of training your pitbull the right way and to understand exactly how a dog’s mind works. I am not a member of PETA or a supporter of the dog rights movement. I am a dog-loving mother. Pit bull training is an important factor in raising a happy and healthy pit bull puppy.
